“I can’t stop,” said Annie as the door opened. “But I was passing by and thought I’d drop in with the poetry books I mentioned last week.”

“How thoughtful of you,” said Copper, taking the books from Annie. “I hope this was not an inconvenience.”

“Nah, it’s no trouble.”

“Would you like to come in?” Copper asked.

Annie checked her watch. “I really can’t. I’ve gotta be at work in fifteen minutes.”

“Ah. In that case….”

“But I’m free after work,” Annie said. “I could always swing by afterwards.”

“That would be delightful,” Copper replied. “I look forward to it.”
